Testimonials
Stephenye is totally committed to the healing of her clients. We are amazed at the progress we have seen in our IVDD post-op Corgi. What a clean and beautiful facility! We look forward to seeing Stephenye and Scott’s vision continue to grow as they provide this critical service locally.
My boy Butter, a 13-year-old Papillon, suffers from genetic degenerative disc disease. His movement was becoming limited and he had lost muscle composition throughout his body. I am amazed at the difference after starting his sessions at MerMutts!! He has developed muscle tone and his mobility has made a complete turnaround; we can even feel the muscles developed in his back and legs from his weekly swimming! Thank you, Stephenye, for improving the quality of life for my senior boy!
We took our pup here before TPLO to help avoid muscle loss. After surgery we returned to help build back the muscle loss she had during the 2 months of rest. The facility is super clean, welcoming and safe. Stephenye is absolutely great with our dog, who is not a fan of strangers. Her energy was light and confident which is exactly what is needed in new enviroments for our dog. She made every process slow and obvious to ensure calm and confidence in our dog before, during and after the swim sessions. I can’t say enough about MerMutts and Stephenye. We’re super glad we went as we believe it helped and sped up our pups recovery. We highly recommend their services for before and after major orthopedic dog surgeries.
I first came to Mermutts because I had a young, male poodle puppy with significant hip dysplasia. Under Stephenye’s skillful, talented (and very patient!) guidance, he became an enthusiastic swimmer. Stephenye not only taught him how to swim, but she provided gentle massage to relax the muscles impacted by his condition. He also benefited from the full-body workout with buoyancy that swimming with Stephenye provided, which was important because he could not run or play comfortably on land.
Stephenye is now teaching my young, female poodle puppy to love the water and to love to swim. She has been shy about swimming but, once again, Stephenye’s patience and skill in figuring out how to get the puppy to relax and enjoy the water has turned the pup into a water mermaid. I am especially impressed with Stephenye’s keen ability to adapt her approach to the needs of each of my puppies and to work gently with them while they figure out the fun of swimming.
Supernova, my 3 year old agility competition Papillon, attends weekly swim sessions at MerMutts to improve her fitness. Since attending, she has improved overall muscular strength, which is needed to jump at international height levels. MerMutts is vital to her competitive career as she works toward national and international competitions! Thank you, MerMutts!
I highly recommend this business if you need any type of water therapy for your dog. My dog had never swam before and laid in the water and relaxed before we made him work his legs. A positive experience was enjoyed by one and all.
Absolutely the best experience with this lovely lady. She took care of my pup as if he were her own.
I am Malcom, and I am a loved and spoiled 10-year-old golden retriever. My favorite thing in the world is to play ball! I love to run fast, and I love to chase 3 balls at one time! So, a few months ago when I hurt my hind leg playing ball, I just could not understand why I couldn’t play ball anymore! My family took me to a lot of doctors. I didn’t need surgery, but they all said I should swim! That was fine with me, but the first time I met Stephenye at MerMutts I was kind of nervous. The swimming pool looked great but after being poked and prodded by so many doctors, I wasn’t sure what would happen to me there, either. I was so nervous I didn’t even want to eat treats!
Stephenye put a life jacket on me so I could use my back legs better, then, to my amazement my favorite ball was tossed into the pool, and I could not wait to go get it! I just could not help myself!! I could swim after my favorite ball, then I played with Stephenye’s toys, too. I was so excited to be able to play again and it didn’t even hurt my leg! My swimming pool at MerMutts is heated so it feels like a nice warm bath, and Stephenye is so nice to me! She massages my legs and feet when I’m resting between chasing the toys and I can tell she really loves me!
Now, I can’t wait to go swimming! When my family brings me to MerMutts I can’t wait to get out of the car and when I’m waiting for my turn my family says I start shaking because I am so excited! I have so much fun there, I wish we could go every day instead of once a week. My family says that it has helped me walk better and even run again, more than any other thing they have done, including supplements and acupuncture. They see a big difference in how I move and walk after my swim sessions.
Now, my new favorite thing to do is to swim with Stephenye at MerMutts! I love it and it makes my leg feel better. What more can a dog want?
